Do What You Can

Do What You Can

A simple, yet elegant, decision that draws power into palms from the pockets you may have forced it into - is the decision to do what you can. You won't always have the surplus. You won't always have the luxuries. You will have, however, just enough.

Sometimes in life we convince ourselves that we can't begin until we have more. That thought is a thought that forms from lack and scarcity consciousness. We don't realize that we don't need more, we just need to take the pieces of ourselves that we put away to come back to life again.

I remember coming up, life wasn't always easy financially. What we didn't have in money sometimes, we always had in love. Nonetheless, there were times when we were running low on cash and took all of the coins we disregarded. Car cup holders, the floor in our bedroom, old purses, and dresser drawers. We put them in a jar, carried them to the coin star, and released them in hope that we had more than what we thought. We always did. It didn't look like much, but when we put the pieces together, it ended up to be ... just enough.

Courage can be our discarded coins at times. We wait and wait and wait for the perfect time, opportunity, or more resources, without scrounging up the courage we disregarded to put our dreams into action. But, when we put all of those pieces together and muster up the courage to do what we can, we somehow find that we have everything that we need to make "it" happen.
